Jen Hayward
Originally from Halifax, Jen has called the North home for 21 years. During that time she’s acquired expertise in just about everything communications and marketing related. She gained her experience in government communications shops working on some of Nunavut's most high-profile communications campaigns. Chances are you've seen the results of a ‘strategy by Jen’ if you've visited the North. She acquired Outcrop in 2017 after running Outcrop Nunavut for four years before that. While she is the CEO, she still works on many of our campaigns, including the lead on Spectacular NWT’s “Something Here Will Change You” campaign that won a Canadian Marketing Award for Brand Building in 2020. Jen is most proud of the fact that Outcrop is the only company in Canada that is 100-percent owned by a Northerner that has offices in all three territories. As a result, she spends a lot of time on airplanes.
